Help Greg's Fight for Life and Healing Journey

I am starting this fund to help Gregory's family raise funds for his medical expenses and rehabilitation. Greg's insurance is very limited and will not cover most of his expenses.

When you hear the name Gregory Hagio you cant help but smile or laugh. He's someone who is always trying to bring light and laughter to the room, even when you're having a bad day.

Living in Santa Cruz, one of the exciting events that everyone looks forward to is the summer Crows Nest Beach Party. It has always been a fun time to listen to music and run into all of your friends and family. On Thursday night August 8th someone took that joy away from everyone.

For anyone who was born and raised in the beautiful town of Santa Cruz you know the uplifting support from our local community is STRONG! We can't step out in public without people stopping Greg in his tracks. The familiar "Whassup Hagi!" is a welcome and consistent greeting everywhere we go.

Gregory along with a fellow friend was a target of a random act of violence. Six shots and eleven holes later Greg is now in the ICU battling for his life from his traumatic injuries. He has had two critical surgeries thus far, with more scheduled in the near future. The long term effects of the TRAUMA to Greg are unknown at this time, and his healing journey will be extensive and intensive.

Llywellyn (Mom), Gia (sister), and Alex, (Greg's Girlfriend), have been with Greg around- the-clock, as part of Greg's care team, helping his fight. They have had to stay close to the hospital as Greg's stability fluctuates throughout the day and night. Daily existence for Greg's care team of mom, sister and girlfriend has changed swiftly, and they have set aside work and life duties to be present for Greg.

It is nothing short of a miracle that Greg is alive and fighting hard to come back from the trauma of the shooting, surgeries, and blood loss. The immense amount of outreach of LOVE and support that Gregory is receiving has been a massive fuel in the fire for his family to fight side-by-side with Gregory.
