Donate to assist Dave's UK trip to help his elderly mother

My name is Dave. Born in the UK, I've lived in the United States for almost 20 years, and am a naturalized American Citizen. It's been many years since I've been back to England, but my mother, Sue, and I were always close. I'm in my fifties, and she's in her late seventies, and we've kept in contact without fail - calling each other twice a week, messaging each other daily, and sending each other little gifts now and then.
Which is why, around 3 or 4 weeks ago, when I didn't hear from her, I began to worry. I managed to have someone local to her check in on her, and she was in a terrible state - on the floor, confused, with the house in a state of disarray and filled with groceries she'd been buying, and then just setting down on the floor. From the state of the house, it looks like she's been getting increasingly muddled and confused, with a lot of short term memory loss, for some time.
She was taken into the hospital, where she remains at present for further assessments and treatment, but it's looking almost certain she'll be needing full-time nursing care going forward.
My brother - who also emigrated to America - is there in England now, doing as much as he can to try and arrange things, but I'm needing to be there too. I have a flight booked to take me to the UK on Sunday, and then the real work begins.
And this is the kicker - this is going to take weeks, if not months to get sorted. We have to figure out what to do with the house, find a nursing home that'll fit my mother's needs, etc.
Today, I had to resign from my job, who were unable to provide me with long-term unpaid leave, although I can reapply there once I return and everything is sorted. In the meantime however, I'm going to be in the UK for a prolonged period. My wife is still working full time, but between the costs of the trip at short notice, passport applications, and basically going into both of us trying to get by from day to day over the next couple of months, with one less paycheck coming in, is going to really hurt us financially. We're not the most solvent of people, but we generally get by.
Please note as well, this is not a call for assistance with medical costs - My mother is fortunate enough to live in the UK, and is receiving the best care through the NHS right now. She also has her late husband's Miners Widow pension, which I'm confident will be able to provide for her nursing home care. This gofundme is merely to support myself and my brother while we get her sorted.
I'm reaching out to anyone who is able to assist. The $5,000 goal is a notional figure, just because Gofundme requires a goal - I'm simply looking for any assistance anyone can provide. If you're able to donate even a few dollars, it'd be gratefully received and help enormously. If you can't assist financially, I would ask you share this Gofundme on social media, and spread the word.
I love my mother dearly, and I have no hesitation in flying out on Sunday, without much of a safety net, and I will do whatever I can to make sure she's OK and well. If you're able to support me in any way during this time, I would be deeply grateful. Thank you for reading.
