My name is Christa Robinson, a graduate student at Michigan State University, and I am asking you to support my friend Aseel Yazan. She is the mother of four children, ages 3 to 11 years old, and she is trying to help them survive war and famine in Gaza. Aseel is asking for your help to support her children so that they can survive the war and someday live in peace. Please consider her appeal below.
"I am Aseel from Gaza, 35 years old, a mother of four children. Here we suffer the ravages of war from all material and psychological aspects. Before the war, I worked as a physical education teacher and received my salary. But now because of the war there is no work and no monthly income My children need clothes and food. We need to build the right shelter to enable us to survive.
I must raise money so that my children and I can survive this barbaric war. We must struggle to survive. There must be a clear future for my children. We are now living in ignorance in the dark We must remain steadfast until this crisis ends. And when the war stops, the first thing we will do is leave Gaza. We must live in safety and stability. My children must forget what they saw and experienced here in Gaza."
Aseel is a mother and an educator, a colleague to me in the field of education. One of the key parts of the genocide in Gaza was scholasticide, meaning that the school system and buildings were intentionally destroyed. Aseel lost her livelihood, the children lost their chance for education, and these schools were targeted while people were sheltering in them. There is nowhere in Gaza that is untouched by violence.
I know Aseel through my good friend Amal Sabra. I am getting to know Aseel and her beautiful children online through Instagram. I hear from her every few days. Aseel will use your donations to survive and provide for necessities like food, clothing, medicine, shelter, household items and transportation. I will send her the funds that she receives from you through PayPal.
Please consider becoming a regular donor to Aseel and her children. Every donation helps.
Warmly,
Christa
