As a history enthusiast high schooler, I've always been captivated by the stories of the past. It's the intricate tapestry of events, cultures, and individuals that have shaped our world today.
Recently, a visit to the doctor led me on a fascinating exploration of ancient healing practices. Diagnosed with stress-related body aches, I found myself discussing the history of medicine with my father. He introduced me to Ayurveda, an Indian holistic medical system that stresses natural medicines, yoga, and leading a healthy lifestyle.
As fate would have, it was in middle school that my path toward health advocacy began. As a participant in the TUPE tobacco use prevention education group, I developed a passion for teaching people about health-related subjects. This encounter ignited a curiosity about learning about different aspects of health and wellness.
The fact that Ayurveda has been used for thousands of years and is still relevant today fascinated me. Inspired by my newfound interest in Ayurveda and my desire to make a positive impact on the community, I decided to create a passion project named the “Arogya Outreach” focused on health advocacy. My aunt told me about the living circumstances in India. She informed me that the local population had a serious need for basic health education. I found a rural hospital specializing in Ayurvedic medicine to volunteer at. To address this gap, I intend to design a weekly series of events highlighting essential health topics. My objective is to give individuals the information and resources they require to take charge of their health and wellbeing.
Your generous contribution, no matter the size, will significantly impact the success of our endeavor.
