Hello, my name is Aric. I used to be a professional fighter and reality TV star, but I lost everything in my life to drugs and alcohol. In my addiction, I did a lot of things I wasn’t proud of and eventually found myself homeless.

After years of struggling and almost losing my life several times, I was given the chance to enter a program instead of going to prison. It was called Drug Court. At the time, I had no family and was very suicidal — but I figured I would try one last time before giving up. That was four and a half years ago.

Since then, my life has completely changed. I’ve gotten sober, worked full-time at Nevada’s largest second-chance company, and partnered with several programs to help people just like me get back on their feet.

Now, I’ve reached a point I never thought possible: I’m purchasing my dream sober living home — a safe, beautiful place where people in recovery can rebuild their lives. I’ve gotten everything lined up, but I need some help covering the down payment and basic furniture for the residents who will be living there.

I’ve never asked for money before. But many people in recovery have reminded me that I don’t have to do everything alone — that it’s okay to ask for help. So here I am, humbly reaching out to my community.
