Hi, my name is Angela. I am 72, guardian to two of my grandkids, 8 & 9. I am a domestic violence, substance abuse, Hep C, and cancer survivor. I have never given up and have been able to provide for the kids and me for the last 7 1/2 years. I have been driving Uber and Lyft since 2015 and used to make enough money to provide for us. Until recently. Earnings for rideshare are way down. I have been trying to find another way to make a living that works with the kids' hours but have not been successful. I am drowning at this point and don't know what to do. I have asked the County, Housing Authority, Ritter House, and St. Vincent's for help. I can't get any. I am not homeless, an addict, or mentally ill, so in order to get housing help, I have to be homeless. Both my grandkids have ADHD and need to be in the schools they're in. I am trying to hang on to my place where I have lived for 32 years. But I am drowning, like I said. I need help to keep us here until I can find another way to make a living. My sister suggested GoFundMe. So I am asking for your help. Anything you can do is appreciated at this point. I have survived so many things in the past, but this is going to take me down. I am not lazy or a quitter but really do need support. Every dime will go to keep my grandkids stable and in the schools they attend. I am grateful for any assistance you can give us!
