We are the Evansville Youth Music Collective, a two-year-old, student-led initiative of sixteen high school students who perform music at Ascension St. Vincent Evansville Hospital and several local senior centers. From classical pieces to well-loved movie soundtracks, our goal is to use our music to brighten someone's day — even just a little.
Through our performances, we've witnessed firsthand the profound impact music has on individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and dementia. We've seen faces light up when a familiar melody triggers precious memories, and watched as music creates moments of connection and joy for both patients and their families. These experiences have inspired us to do more than just perform — we want to be part of the solution.
That's why we're raising funds for the Alzheimer's Disease Research Foundation. Your support will help:
Fund innovative research projects aimed at discovering effective treatments and cures
Support scientists advancing our understanding of this devastating disease
Raise awareness about Alzheimer's impact on families and communities
Music has the unique power to transcend the barriers that Alzheimer's creates, offering comfort and connection when words fail. By supporting us, you're not only helping fund research that could one day eliminate the need for such comfort altogether, but also empowering a group of young people who've seen this disease's impact up close.
Every donation brings us closer to a future where music is purely about joy, not just coping — one song and one breakthrough at a time.
NOTE: All money donated will go directly to the Alzheimer's Disease Research Foundation.
