Hi everyone, my name is Candice Marlene, I am an artist based in El Paso, TX. I am a friend of the Mreish family, and we need your support to help them through this difficult time, this is their story:

I am Abdelrahman from Gaza. I stand before you today as the sole provider for my family. We struggle to survive under the harsh conditions of living in tents in Gaza. I cannot describe what we endure daily in Gaza: no food, no medicine, no clean drinking water, rats and rodents, scarce resources, psychological pressure, uncertainty, and daily trauma from the loss of our loved ones. In Gaza, it's not just suffering, illness, and fear; it's death itself.

I studied information technology in recent years. I had a laptop, but the army broke it when we entered. I lost it, along with all my studies. I managed to repair it and recover my data, but I was deprived of my education. Now, in this dire situation, I humbly and sincerely ask for your help to save our lives, get us out of Gaza, and allow us to complete our education. The situation in Gaza has become unbearable due to the suffering, thirst, and disease.

Since last October, due to the dire situation, we have been forced to flee our homes in northern Gaza, and have been displaced more than eleven times.

The current situation in Gaza, living in a tent with my elderly and ailing grandfather, is dire: food shortages and lack of sanitation. We are sheltering in a plastic tent in harsh weather conditions, lacking even the most basic necessities.

It was a complete and utter hell. The situation remains a threat to our health and well-being. We have reached a point where we may be the only hope for Gaza, or are we simply waiting for death? Even if a solution is reached, the widespread destruction in Gaza, with all its consequences, cannot be repaired quickly.

To cross the border between Gaza and Egypt at Rafah, our names must be on a crossing list (a paid permit). The Egyptian coordinators demand between $7,000 and $8,000 per person for our family names to be added to the border. They will not add our names until you prove you have the money on hand.

Sadly, our house was completely destroyed, and our family home was burned and our garden was destroyed. We lost our jobs and I was particularly heartbroken for my younger siblings who suffered psychologically.

Please help me get them out and allow us to continue our education. Your help will greatly alleviate our suffering. I hope you will share my story with your families and friends.
