Donate to Aid Adeline's Liver Transplant Journey

Hello all,
If you didn't know, since birth Adeline had jaundice and we had to stay in the hospital for a week. She went under the blue light, but it just wouldn't go away. They ran tests on her and were told she needed the Kasai procedure done and that she has biliary atresia. Biliary atresia is a rare and serious liver disease that affects infants. It occurs when a baby's bile ducts are blocked, scarred, or abnormally narrow, preventing bile from leaving the body. So at 2 months old, she got the Kasai procedure done, and we are so grateful for Children's Mercy, their staff, and the surgeon who helped her and us through that time. Adeline was doing good after that; we thought she'd be okay for a few years at least. She's a very happy baby, always smiling so big, but recently we noticed she doesn't smile too much anymore. She's been sleeping a lot, irritable, and her belly just wouldn't go down from the bloat. We weren't ready to hear what was coming from her recent appointment. Adeline's liver is getting worse, and her growth wasn't great this time. With her liver not working properly, it also slows down her development. The doctor said as soon as she gets the transplant and her body adjusts to it, she will learn things very fast. So we have started the process of a liver transplant. They are running it through our insurance, and then she will be put on a waitlist, and when they find one, we are a go. It breaks our hearts she has to go through this at such a young age, but we are also grateful it's now rather than later. Our little fighter is so strong, and she has the support of so many people in her life. We are all so blessed to have you all. Donations will go towards her hospital bills and any essential needs for her care. Even if you can't donate, a share means so much to us already. Thank you all for your helping hands. God bless you all!
