Our town of Montgomery has multiple parks with numerous activities for our town to enjoy.
Montgomery Veterans Park has a lovely playground with a zip line, Millpond Park has soccer
and football fields, and Van Horne Park has a walking loop, sports, and play facilities.
Unfortunately, despite the beautiful walking trail in Van Horne Park, the information kiosks
are in bad condition hence there is no information available for visitors, and the trail doesn’t
have distance markers, which makes it risky for those who would like to explore the scenery.
My name is Adrian Mascarenhas and I am a Life Scout with Troop 850 in Montgomery.
I am working with the Montgomery Township Parks and Recreation Department, for my
Eagle Scout Project, which includes:
- Rebuilding the kiosks and updating the displays with information relevant to the park
- Installing mile markers along the 1.25-mile walking loop
To achieve this, I will need the support of the local community, my friends, and any other
benefactors who wish to support this effort, through monetary donations.
I aim to raise $1,500 for this project. On completion, any unused funds will be donated to
SAVE, an animal shelter in Montgomery.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
