This week, tragedy struck our family in the most heartbreaking way. At only age 34 years old, the husband of my twin sister Kianna Richards-Nelson and father of their four young children passed away unexpectedly.
Mental health struggles are often unseen, yet they can deeply impact lives far too soon. We share this not to seek sympathy but to remind everyone that those experiencing emotional or psychological distress deserve understanding, compassion, not shame. We remember Ty as a devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend.
Kianna now faces the unimaginable which is raising four children ages 5, 7, 10, and 13 while grieving the love of their lives. This fund will help cover funeral costs, therapy for the kids, and the everyday expenses that don’t stop when life does.
If you’ve ever known Kianna, you know her heart is very big, she's giving, generous, full of light. Kianna has poured love into everyone around her. She’s lifted friends in hard times, shown up for anyone in need, and spread warmth wherever she goes. Now she needs us.
Let’s show her that she’s not alone — that love can still rise through heartbreak.
Your contribution helps not just her family, but raises awareness that mental health matters. Please give what you can, share, and keep them in your prayers.
