Donate Thanksgiving Meals for the Bridgeport Needy

Hello friends,

Jannine and Bill McDonald here. For several years, we have participated in a wonderful tradition just before Thanksgiving.

Our great friends Elaine and Dan Flanagan have led efforts to organize an annual "turkey day." This year, we will be donating 40 full Thanksgiving meals to the Missionaries of Charity, founded by Mother Teresa, to feed the needy in the Bridgeport, CT area.

We meet with several friends the weekend before Thanksgiving at the Stop and Shop in Fairfield. There, we buy turkeys, potatoes, stuffing, pies, etc., and load up all the food to bring to the convent in Bridgeport. We meet the Sisters there to drop the food and take a nice selfie for memories. The Sisters then work directly with the Missionary to distribute the meals to the poor in time for Thanksgiving.
