My name is Mami Brunah Aro Sandaniaina and I am originally from Madagascar.
In January 2024, I came to the United States with my 3 years old daughter, carrying both hope for a better future for both of us, and responsibility to continue serving my community wherever I go.
Today, I am a full-time international student, a full-time single mother, and the founder of the Empower Malagasy Women’s Association.
Beginning in Fall 2026, I will start a non-guaranteed paid internship connected to my calling to start a New Worshipping Community for the Malagasy diaspora around the Bay Area that will also avoid moving to another place and uprooting my daughter to her school, where she is flourishing.
Your support will help Malagasy mothers in Madagascar to be financially stable and my daughter and me to continue our educations in Berkeley.
Every contribution and shared message becomes part of a larger story of hope, resilience, faith, and community.
Thank you for believing in our journey and helping us turn this vision into reality.
