I was the blessed recipient of a Double Lung Transplant in March 2025 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St Louis Missouri.

I get to return to Barnes Jewish at least every 4 weeks (and sometimes 2 weeks) for doctor appointments, tests and treatments. When we are there, we stay at the Barnes Lodge. It is affordable, convenient and clean. Unfortunately, they are in need of new mattresses for their beds. The mattresses are worn out! This is the purpose of this campaign.

Conveniently located at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University Medical Center, Barnes Lodge provides a home away from home for families and patients who travel to St. Louis for medical treatment. Barnes Lodge provides a safe, comfortable and affordable atmosphere with staff on duty 24 hours daily to provide support and assistance.

Barnes Lodge evolved from the collaborative efforts of the Barnes-Jewish Hospital auxiliary and the department of social work. A 5-bedroom temporary facility was established in 1985 and matured into the current 20-guest-room home in January 1991. Funding was made possible by a generous donation from the hospital auxiliary.)
