Hi, my name is Melissa. I’m starting this GoFundMe to help surprise my dad and his wife so they can get a new car.

My dad is battling lymphoma cancer, and recently we were told the cancer is continuing to grow. He was first diagnosed in May and spent over a month in the hospital due to complications. At one point, doctors told us he might not make it because of internal bleeding, but by a miracle, he pulled through. I’m so grateful he’s still here with us today.

Since then, life has only gotten harder. Shortly after leaving the hospital, he lost two of his beloved dogs that he had for years. Not long after, my brother—his only son—passed away at the age of 39. It has been the hardest time our family has ever faced.

Right now, one of the biggest struggles is transportation. A reliable car would mean so much—it would give his wife a way to get to work and make sure my dad can get to his doctor appointments without added stress.
