Donate Toward an Adaptive Playground Swing in Elk River

Hi! I'm Johnny Vick. I am a senior at Spectrum High School in Elk River. For my senior project, I am fundraising to purchase an adaptive playground swing for the City of Elk River. I became aware of the need for adaptive/accessible playground equipment when a new playground in my neighborhood was installed with no inclusive equipment. Many people in our community voiced concerns about a lack of adaptive playground equipment throughout our city. Additionally, I have worked for Elk River Parks and Recreation Department as a Recreational Program Leader for the past two summers. Through this, I've developed a sensitivity for children of all ages and abilities. I have also grown in understanding the importance and value of inclusive play.

Through this project, I am hoping to raise awareness and inspiration in providing inclusive play spaces for all kids.
