Last year this GoFundMe was established by Darrick Blue, Lead School Safety Officer at the World of Inquiry School No. 58, in Rochester, NY.

With great success in serving almost 90 families last year, Mr. Blue is carrying on the tradition and asks again that folks contribute to a fund to purchase fresh produce and other items for Thanksgiving food baskets.

We are the only K-12 school in the RCSD, with a mission to foster culturally responsive learning experiences grounded in expeditionary learning and to promote student agency by teaching youth to take responsibility for their own learning and become active citizens who advocate for equity in their school, community, and society.

Last year, our school community celebrated our 58th anniversary and our theme for the year was "58 Years of Inquiry - Rooted in WE."

Students, staff and community members stepped up to demonstrate the idea of "Rooted in WE". We have decided to repeat this special learning opportunity and community building initiative.

During the next few weeks we will be talking with our students about "Building a Better World," which is one of our core values. As part of this initiative, we will be distributing Thanksgiving Baskets to at least 70 families.
