On Friday, Aug 1st, my nephew Blaze got into an accident while riding his dirt bike. Blaze was enjoying a ride through the woods when he unexpectedly came across a cable/wire lined from tree to tree. Without too much detail, At around 25 MPH, Blaze drove into the unseen cable which was the same height as his neck area. Blaze suffered extreme damage and was life flighted to Pittsburgh Children's Hospital where he had to have emergency surgery. Blaze severed his vocal cords along with rupturing both lungs due to the impact. He has had multiple surgeries along with an upcoming surgery once swelling goes down. Blaze is still not alert although he did squeeze the nurses hand today when asked. Any donation made will help with expenses for his mother to continue to be by his side while off work along with any medical expenses needed. Blaze will have a long road ahead of him with recovery but we all know he is a strong kid and will fight his way back to health. If you are not able to donate, please say a pray for a quick recovery.
