On 21 September 2026 a fire broke out in the attic of the independent school Sainte-Marie in Saint-Père-Marc-en-Poulet, France.
All 270 pupils, including 120 boarders, were evacuated safely. Luckily no one was injured.
The fire destroyed the part of the building used for administration and student accommodation. The classrooms themselves were not affected, but the community has lost a large amount of the ordinary equipment it needs to house its pupils and continue its daily life.
They need to replace what was lost: bedding, clothing, liturgical vestments (albs, chasubles, copes) and altar missals among other things.
The school needs the basic tools required for a school that forms children and keeps the traditional Mass.
