COVID-19 Food donation to workers at a Hospital

Japanese is written on the bottom.

Summary:
Mifune NY is raising funds to support healthcare workers by serving food during COVID-19 outbreak in NYC

My name is Yuu Shimano, the co-executive chef of Mifune NY, a French-Japanese restaurant in Midtown Manhattan.
I trained at couple of restaurants in France at the beginning of my career, and also worked at Guy Savoy, a three Michelin starred restaurant in Paris.
I arrived in NYC in 2017 and always worked hard to cook memorable dishes & bring smiles to my customers.

Needless to say that my journey changed drastically with the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the first case reported on March 1st until April 17th, New York State counted 230,000+ confirmed cases and more than 16,000 deaths.

When New York State enacted the "stay-at-home" order, we didn't have the choice but temporarily close our establishment just like the entire restaurant/bar industry.

At such time, I learnt that a friend of mine who is a doctor at a NYC hospital had been infected by COVID-19. He had been working very hard during the peak of cases and he contracted the virus himself. He never complained and his only objective was to recover fast and go back to work and help the COVID patients.
I got inspired by his mindset and determination and I really wanted to find a way to support the hospital workers. I wondered what I could do as a restaurant chef.

Few days ago, I prepared 50 sandwiches alone from scratch, and donated to frontline workers at a hospital in Manhattan.
I received so many thank you messages and requests to continue. Many people reached out as they wanted to support my action.

This is why I created this Gofundme page in order to keep preparing meals to support the hospital workers "through their stomach".
100% of the donations will go to support this project.

Thank you very much for your support and stay safe!

-Yuu Shimano
