Ciao,

Quest'anno ho collaborato e organizzato esibizioni d'arte per raccontare la storia di Amal, una amica del collettivo MAKAN. Per dare un aiuto concreto a una nostra amica e collega palestinese costretta ad abbandonare casa a causa della guerra a Gaza, abbiamo deciso di lanciare una raccolta fondi per supportarla.

Lei si chiama Amal, e nonostante le difficoltà date dalla migrazione forzata a causa della brutale campagna israeliana, ha la forza, la determinazione e la volontà di esprimere la sua voce artistica.

Amal al momento abita al Cairo con la sua famiglia. L'accesso alle risorse per i palestinesi in Egitto è complicato, data la mancanza di documentazione regolare e data soprattutto la situazione di crisi costante. Sta programmando di entrare in un percorso di studi artistici in Spagna e i contributi andranno ad aiutare lei e la sua famiglia.

Lei si racconta qui:

"My name is Amal Al-Nakhala. I was born in Gaza in 1999 and I am currently based in Cairo. I have been practicing art for many years, beginning from a deep desire to understand myself, what is happening in my mind and within me, and then exploring the worlds inside me. Art became a way to express that inner exploration. My practice has always been deeply personal, rooted in raw emotions such as self-doubt and guilt. While my work was not initially political, the war in Gaza October 2023 profoundly changed my practice and led me to create an artistic diary that blends writing and visual pieces from that intense period. Now, living and working in Cairo, my work has evolved: it is rich in symbolism, explores memory and transformation, and often uses surrealism as a central language."

This year I have collaborated and organized art exhibitions to tell the story of Amal, a friend of the MAKAN collective. To give concrete help to our friend and Palestinian colleague forced to abandon her home due to the war in Gaza, we have decided to launch a fundraiser to support her. Her name is Amal, and despite the difficulties caused by forced migration due to the brutal Israeli campaign, she has the strength, determination and will to express her artistic voice.

Amal currently lives in Cairo with her family. Access to resources for Palestinians in Egypt is complicated, given the lack of regular documentation and above all given the constant crisis situation.

She is planning to enter an artistic studies path in Spain and the contributions will go to help her and her family. She tells her story here: "My name is Amal Al-Nakhala. In the past months, I have spoken a lot with her through video calls to organize the installation, and we have discussed for hours about the meaning of art, of making art in these times and about the necessity, despite everything, of using this medium to launch the message we want. From here comes the will to want to give back something so that MAKAN as a group is not only a guest of Amal's Art, but is also a vehicle to give concrete and tangible support to her and her family in this period.

At the end of the fundraiser, I will take care of making sure that Amal receives the collected sum. So, now I thank you a thousand times to you who are thinking of donating any amount. 1 euro, 2 euros, 3 euros, 10 euros, 20 euros, 50 euros. Whatever you want, any contribution is useful.
