Joel, a father of six, was taken into ICE custody on Saturday, June 16th. For the past 25 years Joel has lived in the US and has six US-born kids, the oldest of which is 23 and the youngest of which is 9. His wife is unable to work due to a medical condition and Joel is the sole breadwinner for his household.
His wife said, "He has his family here and his life made here. Our daughters are too young to be separated from their father. Our families can not be separated. My daughters are very impacted by this."
Joel is also an activist and member of Centro de Trabajadores Unidos en Lucha (CTUL) who has defended his own and his coworkers' rights, standing up to abuses in the construction industry.
Joel's bond is currently set at $7,500. We are raising money for his bond and support for his family, who will not be able to pay bills this month without his contributions.
