Dom's level 40 boss battle fundraiser

Once upon a time there was a Dom.

That rare Dom, that good Dom, that delightful Dom - the one with the silly wriggly parts, the hearty giggly parts. The Dom with wisdoms so deep they brushed the seabed and gave the whales good orange dreams. The Dom with generosity so high it tickled the clouds and made them blush in little sunsets. You know the one. She's pretty magic.

As she approaches her 40th solar spin (yahooo), we have a chance to make a profound difference in Dom's life. In order to stretch her wingtips towards her longtime ambition of being a relationship therapist, she's been gradually trying to save £4.5k for the London Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy, a high-quality course that will enable her to to be included on online directories, receive backing by UK therapeutic awarding bodies, and legitimise the great therapeutic gifts she holds into a clear career.

Living hand to mouth (after years of tricksy employment false starts), Dom is taking any work opportunities to fundraise, but progress is slow. If we could manage to raise £3k, to supplement the first year of her course, it would set her up for finally being able to offer her profound gifts to those in need of support with relational and sexual traumas and complexity. If you’ve ever unpacked a tangly internal dilemma with Dom, you’ll know that her having the chance to do such work would be a true gift to any struggling souls who had the luck to work with her.

We share this fundraiser in the spirit of the gift economy - in which gratitude, contribution and reciprocity are exponential currencies, that transform our personal journeys of resource from isolation to community.

Of course there is no pressure to put in money, and many of us are not in positions of financial abundance to offer much. However, we know that any small contribution of even £1 will let her know that she is supported in this journey, and bring her the sense of resource she needs to keep seeking ways to fundraise for this transformative opportunity. That philanthropic darling Jem has generously offered to match-fund all of the contributions up to £1000, so whatever you give up to this amount will also be doubled.

Thanks to this community for weaving support for our Dom as she crosses this threshold into her 40s. She is prone to giving so much to those around her, and what an joy it would be for us to to return some of that back to her. True gratitude to anyone who is able to contribute. Our generosity feeds a cycle of kindness, that inevitably finds its way back to us.
