I am hoping to raise at least $2000 so I can help deliver Dental services to the underprivileged people in the Dominican Republic. I have always enjoyed serving others and as soon as I got into Dentistry I knew I wanted to go the latin america to give back. I really would appreciate any help you can give me so that I can pass on that love to the people in the D.R.
I will be going with the The Dominican Dental Mission Project. This group was started in 1982 and more than 60,000 people have received approximately US$18 million worth of dental services. Each day volunteers leave the mission compound for remote villages high in the mountains. Preventive services, exodontia, operative dentistry (i.e., amalgams and light-cured composites), endodontic, pediatric (pulpotomies and stainless steel crowns) and prosthetic services (e.g., transitional dentures to replace maxillary anterior teeth and complete dentures using denture templates and monoplane teeth) are delivered in schoolrooms that have been converted into dental clinics for the day.
There are many great ways to donate money to help those in need, but not always can you see the direct benefits of your donations. I promise you will be rewarded and feel the love as you see the pictures I take of the people that will be helped by your donation. Every dollar you donate will help provide $10 of dental services. It costs about $25 to provide treatment each person so If you donate $100 then you will be helping provide treatment for 4 people! Every bit helps. No donation is too small!
