Hi I’m Ben and on 14th November 2024 my wife and I lost our beautiful baby daughter Polly Hope at 21 weeks this came out of the blue after been told our pregnancy was doing very well a few day prior. After spending 3 days in hospital before it all went wrong and I was warned both lives were on the line our beautiful Polly Hope was born and after been born alive and passing with myself 26 minutes later This shook us as a family and rocked our world completely. The treatment we received in hospital and afterwards was inhumane and there was no aftercare given to us. There was no beaverment plans or any beaverment midwife in place and We were sent home emptied handed suffering in silence with no help whatsoever. We was heading towards places no one should go. That’s when a random email waiting to be opened that Sam found from us asking for a sharps box. She made contact emails and calls were exchanged and asked if we wanted to go to one of her support groups she hosts for other beavered parents. After going and meeting others in the same situation we sought comfort in the charity and made friends along the way that taught us it’s ok to talk about it. It’s ok to remember and to talk about our Polly Hope and to keep her story alive. As men we learn not to talk. Not to open up. But without chasing rainbows and the help and support I received from Sam I dare to think were I would be now. She helped us get answers we didn’t think we would ever get. This isn’t a charity that gets an income to pay wages. It’s a charity run by beavered parents for beavered parents and as every man knows a happy wife is a happy life So Want to join me in making a difference? I’m running the hull 10k on may 31st which for others is a breeze but for me is going to be a challenge as I avoid exercise at all costs however I’m doing this for my daughter Polly Hope and I’m raising money to benefit Chasing Rainbows, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
More information about Chasing Rainbows: Chasing rainbows provide a vital service within the local community of Hull & The East Riding supporting women going through recurrent miscarriage and early pregnancy loss through access to peer support groups. The groups provide Knowledge and assistance to help women be able to self advocate to healthcare professionals about the care they receive and are entitled to as a recurrent miscarriage patient. The charity provide memory bracelets to local hospitals also. #Doing it for Polly
