Documented Abuse: A Mother's Plea for Help

I am nearly 4 years into an extremely high conflict divorce and custody battle. After living through years of domestic violence in multiple forms throughout the marriage, I was finally able to leave in 2021. But since leaving I have subjected to Post Separation abuse in the forms of Emotional, Financial, Legal, Harassment, and others. My children have been subjected to Abusive Parenting tactics and many of the same abusive behaviors that I have endured.

I have made my own mistakes in parenting, and struggled with addiction and major health issues, many of which were caused by years of abuse. I am sober and have gone through Inpatient and Outpatient Rehabilitation, AA fully working the steps, Domestic Violence Recovery Support, Positive Parenting Class, CBT, Trauma Therapy, and many others. I have done everything in my power to heal and better myself in order to be a healthy and stable parent for my children. Unfortunately, the more I heal and less reactive I am, the more severe Greg's tactics become.

Since 2022 I have been on supervised visits, every other weekend in my home. For the past year my mother has been the approved supervisor. Despite having court orders with clearly defined criteria for visitation, I am constantly receiving threats of having my parenting time revoked any time there are personal disagreements between Greg and I.

It is time to fight for my custody back in order to provide safety and stability for Lincoln and Elizabeth. Since separation I have been fighting this battle on my own with no lawyer. But now it is time to ask for help in this war, because I can't keep doing this on my own. In order to move forward, I need financial assistance in order to get a lawyer.

My objectives are to obtain 50/50 legal and physical custody, get a DVRO for personal protection against Greg, have the ability to transport my children, have the ability to do exchanges done in a safe location NOT at my home, and have all communication with Greg done through a court approved parenting app. This plan will provide my children equal access to their Mother, removes Greg's ability to be sole decision maker and block me from their lives, and also allow me the safety of not having him allowed near my home and restrict his ability to harass and abuse further.
