DIY Music Venue in Americas Hometown NEEDS YOU

Who could have imagined that 10 years would pass so quickly?  Or that instead of a celebration we would crawling into the finish line bleeding and on the verge of closing the doors for good!?!?!  Strange days we're living in and, as in the beginning, it is going to take a community to keep this ship a sailing!

The Be Here Now DIY Music Venue & Craft Brew Bar has been the home for live music in America's Hometown of Muncie, Indiana for a decade.  Started by a local Ball State graduate on maxed out credit cards, lots of volunteers, good faith, and maybe even a little bit of magic BHN has been the spot in East Central Indiana to check out the biggest variety of original music and events.  We've been a home or watering hole for thousands of original acts over the years (last count was over 4,000 bands/DJ/performers CRAZY!).  We've hosted rock operas, suspension shows, plays, musicals, drag shows and of course hundreds of nights filled with DJs and bands of all varieties.  With all of that has come the great supporters and music lovers required to keep a joint like this open.  BHN has been the anti-corporate antidote to an increasingly gentrified corporate mono-culture making it's way into the area.  Money spent at BHN stays in Muncie; we've always wanted to be the change we wish to see in the world! It's been an uphill battle but no matter the challenges we've managed to keep these doors open.  Unfortunately we've found ourselves on the outside looking in when it comes to any federal grants or loans... turns out the banks make more servicing million dollar loans than 10K ones-imagine that!!! ;)

Because we are in a college town finances for the year can be very seasonal in nature... our busiest times of the year are late August through Halloween and Saint Patrick's Day through Ball State University graduation.  Unfortunately for BHN this global pandemic  has kept our doors closed from March 16th to the present... those busy times can account for almost 30% of the yearly budget and carry us through the slower summer.  Without that 6 weeks... well... we're screwed!   On top of that... Indiana reopening requirements forbidding "live entertainment" into the foreseeable future will likely mean missing out on the next several months of event driven weekends.  It's a real hit that leaves us with the finances to cover one more month at this point.  For the safety of our staff, patrons, and community we will be opening with limited hours/days (and no shows!) during the state reopening process as well.  It's going to be rough and the numbers don't lie... we need your help.

We can't imagine a Muncie or this college community without a "Be Here Now" consistently playing host for the live original music and events scene.  Don McLean's "American Pie" has always held a place close to our hearts as we've worked hard to keep the music alive.  We hope that in these trying times you are able to help us stop this next month from being "The Day The Music Dies"!

Any funds raised will be used for

1) Rent
2) Utilities (Electric/Gas/Water/Sewer/internet/sound rental/etc)
3) Insurance (this is not cheap but necessary!)
4) Deposits on Devin The Dude/Afroman/other upcoming events in August/September
5) Anything extra will go towards always evolving and continued improvements to stage/equipment/etc!

Thank you for taking the time to read this, may you and yours have all the best!!!
