Hello world, I am Abdul Rahman, writing to share the story of my sister's family, the Kahil family, consisting of 9 members. We write their story to you with heavy hearts as they endure the Israeli bombing in the far south of Rafah Beach. They live in a dangerous nylon tent, suffering from diseases, freezing in the cold, and getting muddy when it rains. They have witnessed continuous bombing for days, with each strike getting closer, making them believe they might die with the next strike. However, they managed to survive and escape. After being displaced 7 times, they found no place to live except this tent, which has become their home.
The shock they have experienced, especially the children, cannot be measured, especially given the circumstances of the pandemic and environmental pollution. They are struggling to secure clean water, food, and basic necessities. They have been without electricity, internet, or communications for over 7 months!
The war has destroyed all their dreams, their homes, their jobs, and their future, in addition to their possessions and cherished memories, leaving them with nothing but the clothes they wear. Their father and brothers lost their jobs, and even my sister lost her job and source of income. One of her brothers was supposed to be in the Tawjihi schooling stage, and he lost his chance at education, as did her little sister. They were deprived of their right to learn, and her younger brothers were denied their right to play and feel safe. Additionally, one of her younger brothers suffers from a blood pressure problem and needs daily treatment, which is not available. They are also suffering from a lack of sanitary pads, clean water, and milk due to the epidemic and pollution.
Despite the difficulties and hardships of earning a living in Gaza, they tried to open their own project, an establishment that sells candles, agendas, and distinctive sundries, but unfortunately, every dream and everything was completely destroyed.
Now, the Kahil family no longer has any income to provide for their basic needs. The cost of leaving Gaza to enter Egypt via the Rafah crossing is high, as they need to pay $5,000 per person for my immediate family of 9 individuals (totaling $45,000). Your help means so much as they strive to rebuild and envision better days ahead. Every donation, big or small, helps them start mending their broken dreams.
Important note: This fundraising campaign is for my sister's family, as I reside in Europe. All funds collected will be transferred directly to the personal bank account of the Kahil family in Palestine. Proof of the transferred funds will be provided upon request.
