Hi! My name is Lucas Gentina. I live on beautiful Quadra Island. I am planning a fundraising event to give back to the community that will take place Sunday, September 14, where I will swim across Discovery Passage from Quadra Island Lighthouse to the 50th Parallel in Campbell River.
I plan to leave Quadra at 1:30pm - we have been planning this for months and we have safety teams planned at both ends of the swim as well as 3 safety vessels assisting and guiding me for the entirety of the swim. The authorities have been informed and proper procedures have been met.
Funds raised will be donated to the Community Centre on Quadra with the intent to offer art workshops for the youth and indigenous community. The goal is to offer these workshops to raise creative awareness of the ocean. I have a deep passion for the vibrant ocean and to share it with the people.
the ocean inspires me and I want to inspire the same in our youth. I am a commercial diver by trade and a dive master at heart with multiple years of experience in the Pacific Northwest waters focusing on Vancouver Island.
I also run a company called Son of a Fish Collective.
Life is Good, Ocean is Life
