Love into Action This Valentine’s Day
As we celebrate Valentine’s Day, there is no better time to put love into action. The Bible reminds us to advocate for the poor and needy, and today, I am asking you to stand with me in doing just that.
Having worked within several Local Authorities in the Child Protection arena, I have seen firsthand how poverty and economic hardship increase the vulnerability of families, often leading to social services involvement. No family should have to choose between heating their home or feeding their children, yet this is the heartbreaking reality for many in our communities.
I have lived in Milton Keynes for several years and have witnessed the incredible work of MK Melting Pot, a not-for-profit organisation committed to building an inclusive community by reducing hunger among young people and families and empowering people to overcome hardship. They provide food, resources, training, and activities that bring hope and relief to disadvantaged individuals and families.
This is why I am reaching out to you today. We often take basic necessities for granted, but for some, these are daily struggles. It breaks my heart to know that families in our community are suffering, and I know it touches your heart too.
This Valentine’s Day, let’s make love more than just a word—let’s make it an action. Will you give generously to support this life-changing work?
Your donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference. Together, we can be the hands and feet of love in action.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
With gratitude
