Hello Community!
Casita 954 is a Queer & Trans BIPOC home. We are a house of folks with disabilities, including heavy access needs and being immunocompromised. We are creatives, community advocates, scholars calling in safe and secure housing/as renters.
Right now only one person in our home has stable income while four of us do not have paid work, and are relying on unemployment and community support. We are hopeful this will change but we need support!
We are raising funds to sustain the house through the rest of the year. The total does not amass to our total rent which for transparency is $4,275/month. Our total goal reflects what we need after accounting for our out of pocket funds; what we can contribute as a house to our total rent.
In asking for financial support, we are reaching out to our community to help us cultivate our collective growth and healing. As a house of five there are varying needs among us. Within this ask, there is an overarching financial need that once met will offer space and time to heal from trauma without continued stress to meet monthly rent.
Pre-COVID times we have opened our home to many people over the years that were in need of housing, and made our space available to support those most impacted in our communities. If you have access to financial stability, wealth, and have never been housing insecure this is an opportunity for you to facilitate that for others/us.
Our hope is to feel stable enough to cultivate our collective skills and gifts to support others in our communities beyond what we have been able to do so far.
Fundraising breakdown:
We are fundraising for part of our rent for August 1st through December 1st, 2020. This only includes rent for two rooms in the house from August through December 2020 which would bring stability to the house as a whole.
Our goal is to raise:
$2,293.33 by August 1st: for August expenses
$4,513.33 by August 15th: to further account for September and October expenses
$7,483.33 by November 1st: to further account for November and December expenses
+ an estimated of $315 to offset GoFundMe Fees (2.9% transaction fee plus $0.30 per donation)
This is ALL going directly to RENT, nothing will be kept for our own personal needs unless we go beyond our goal.
We believe this is possible because we know community has our back! Please donate, share, and spread the word!!
Thank you!! <3 - Casita954
