Thank you thank you thank you to everyone who has reached out to check on me and my family. While we currently evacuated and safe, unfortunately, many of my childhood friends and community's homes didn't make it.

My name is Janice Park and I'm raising funds to send directly to individuals and families who have been displaced by the Eaton and Palisades fires...many of whom are currently too overwhelmed to know exactly what to ask for, too proud and ashamed with survivors' guilt to do this for themselves, or non-English speaking...and the list is growing :(

While I'm no stranger to wildfires being born and raised in SoCal, unfortunately this is the first time I can name names, see faces, and have direct relationships with MULTIPLE families in need...After years of blindly clicking recirculated links and donating to faceless orgs, I've found that I have no idea where and to whom my $$$ is going - especially during a time of misinformation, looting, and individuals seeking to capitalize on tragedy for their own financial gain.

As we speak, more homes and businesses are still burning, winds are picking up tonight, and people are exhausted, scared, and just want to go home.

Anything you can do to help us rebuild would be deeply appreciated.

These funds will assist with needs that might not be covered by other sources of aid.

Donations will go directly to affected families including:

-newlywed couple who bought their first home, one of whom was laid off last year

-family of 4: 2 parents who were BOTH laid off during this past year with one young child (2) and a newborn baby (6 months)

-single mother and college-aged daughter

Funds will cover:

-Hotel rooms and AirBnB costs

-Flights to stay with extended family

-Deposits for new rentals

-Rent (in addition to the ongoing mortgage payments)

-Rebuilding costs
