Diona Jakupi - Brain Tumor Glioma Grade 4

Update (08-29-2024) From Children’s Medical Center Dallas:

Diona's condition is worsening. Her heart rate has dropped below 35, and she has been vomiting most of the day. An MRI scan revealed that the tumor is growing rapidly and spreading through her neck and spine. Based on the results, we will begin a 10-day course of radiation to her entire head and spine. This treatment is meant to extend her life by a few months or, hopefully, until her full recovery. We are praying for the best, but in the meantime, it’s incredibly painful to watch Diona endure this battle against cancer again. This is her second round of radiation, yet the tumor continues to return, grow, and spread. It’s heartbreaking to see our child go through this. We desperately need everyone’s prayers and support.

Our daughter, Diona, is a sweet and resilient 7-year-old facing a battle no child should have to endure—a diagnosis of Diffuse Midline Glioma, a grade 4 malignant brain tumor.

Given this devastating diagnosis, we, as a family, want to spend as much time with Diona as possible. Her father, Ermir Jakupi, stopped working on January 21, 2024, to be with her and help care for her during hospital stays, treatments, and therapies. As a result, we have no income coming into our home, and we need your support to pay our bills and support Diona’s treatment.
