The COVID pandemic made clear what those in the world of government, non-profits, and businesses already knew: access to the Internet is critical to modern life. Many low-income residents of Alamance and Rockingham Counties, NC, do not yet have the abilities necessary to successfully use the internet. Right Here, Right Now Project addresses digital literacy needs in both counties. To support this effort,
Stakeholders of Alamance and Rockingham County funded a pilot program to last until other funds could be accessed through the BEAD Act and the Infrastructure Job and Investment Act. These funds will be released in November/December of 2022.
Unfortunately, the pilot program funds have been exhausted due to the popularity of the pilot program, together with inflated prices for gasoline and materials. If we are to keep this pilot program going until November, we need additional funding.
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to help keep Right Here, Right Now Project working on digital literacy until the counties can access the funds from the state of NC late this year. Thanks in advance for contributing to this cause, which means so much to low-income families.
