We live in an era where technology can connect us anywhere, yet there are still people who lack access to even water, food, or a computer.
At the International Kids Coding Association, we believe technology should be a right, not a privilege. That’s why we teach coding to children in the most challenging environments in the world. After Kibera, our new project is in Kakuma, the largest refugee camp in the world, located in northern Kenya, home to over 200,000 people.
In collaboration with CAPS (Community Action for Peace and Solidarity), HRA (Humanitarian Resilience Aid), and Generation Aid, we have started a coding course for the children of Kakuma, despite the extreme conditions:
- Classes under the sun, without stable electricity
- One laptop shared among 25 children
- Hunger, thirst, and constant blackouts
- Yet, these children never stop learning. In fact, they have created something extraordinary.
We have created an exhibition showcasing the conditions, daily life, and hopes of the refugees. The photos, information, and stories you’ll find were provided and written by them.
By visiting our online exhibition, you can:
- Admire the drawings created by the children in the camp, inspired by coding and their imagination
- Take a virtual tour that brings you into the daily life of Kakuma: real scenes, daily challenges, but also genuine emotions and authentic dreams
- The visit is free and accessible to everyone.
- But for those who wish, you can make a donation to support the project.
Every contribution will help:
- Provide food and water during lessons
- Purchase computers, solar energy, and internet connections
- Ensure educational continuity and digital support
“Poverty is not just a lack of income. It is a lack of freedom.”
– Amartya Sen
With your help, we can give these children the freedom to build their future.
Visit the exhibition and discover the stories and digital dreams of the children of Kakuma.
Your presence matters — and after your visit, you can make a difference.
Support their future with a free donation. Every contribution helps.
Thank you for choosing to believe in them.
