Digging out for Emi

Hi all,

Happy New Year!  This beautiful little family and our friends, Tiffany, Akira and Emi need our help.

Raised in rural Alabama and Japan, Silverado fondly reminded Tiffany and Akira of their youth.  They wanted to raise Emi surrounded by nature and a close community.  They fit right into an eclectic mix of people, from all around the world and different walks of life, where everyone looks out for each other.  The Shimbo's are generous and sweet and loved by all lucky to get to know them. 

Heavy rains in Silverado, CA on the morning of December 14, 2020 caused massive debris flow in burn areas from a fire from the previous year.  The Shimbo's recently moved into their dream home, overlooking the creek.  Their new home was inundated with mud, water and boulders.  The debris surrounds the home and is UNDERNEATH their home as well.  Neighbors, friends and family from near and far dug for days to clear the mud around the house but they could not touch the mud underneath the house and were waiting for the insurance claim to get processed.

Unfortunately, their insurance carrier, the California Fair Plan denied their claim and will not provide any compensation for the damages because they purchased the home after the fire.  This UNFAIR decision from the California FAIR Plan leaves the Shimbo's with thousands of dollars in damages.  Donations go directly to the family, so they can restore their home to what it once was, an oasis tucked away from the city. Any help is beyond appreciated.
