Bernadette Soubirous disse: “sarei molto felice di potermi occupare dei bambini”.
Dal grande desiderio nutrito dall’umile pastorella di Lourdes, che non potè realizzare a causa della malferma salute, nasce l’ispirazione di dar vita al progetto della casa didattica “Bernadette”. La struttura fa parte del complesso turistico didattico denominato “La Fornace” situato in Alta Valle Staffora a 757m di altitudine nel pittoresco borgo di Massinigo in provincia di Pavia in Lombardia.
Massinigo è una piccola e tranquilla frazione del Comune di Santa Margherita Staffora, raggiungibile percorrendo la strada provinciale che da Varzi conduce al Brallo. Il borgo lega il suo nome ad un importante ritrovamento archeologico: la Fornace Romana. In occasione della costruzione della scuola primaria, Il 12 Settembre 1957, l’impresa edile che stava eseguendo i lavori notò che durante gli scavi affiorava dal terreno una grande quantità di frammenti di mattoni, del tutto ingiustificabili dalla natura del terreno agricolo in cui si stava operando. Il 6 Ottobre 1957 l’oggetto del ritrovamento fu definito dal Sopraintendente alle Antichità della Lombardia un “forno romano di tipo verticale costituito da un canale scoperto e da una camera di combustione di sezione circolare“. Le ricerche continuarono fino al 1962 e portarono ad affermare che la Fornace Romana di Massinigo, risalente al III° Secolo A.C. è stata utilizzata fino alla prima metà del I° Secolo d.C.
La scelta del luogo per la realizzazione del complesso, non è casuale, è motivata dalla presenza del prezioso reperto archeologico. La casa didattica offre alle scolaresche che si recheranno in visita d’istruzione, un percorso didattico strutturato in diversi laboratori. Saranno inoltre organizzati centri estivi, corsi di musica, di pittura, di cucina, di giardinaggio, attività di sport all’aperto ed eventi culturali. Una particolare attenzione sarà rivolta agli alunni con disabilità grazie a percorsi inclusivi e personalizzati.
La casa (visibile in foto), risalente alla metà dell’Ottocento, necessita di importanti interventi di riqualificazione. La tua donazione permetterà la ristrutturazione e la messa in sicurezza dello stabile. Bernadette Soubirous said: “I would be very happy to be able to take care of the children”. From the great desire nurtured by the humble shepherdess of Lourdes, which she could not fulfill because of her poor health, the inspiration to give life to the project of the “Bernadette” educational house was born. The structure is part of the didactic tourist complex called “La Fornace” located in the Upper Staffora Valley at 757m above sea level in the picturesque village of Massinigo in the province of Pavia in Lombardy.
Massinigo is a small and quiet hamlet in the municipality of Santa Margherita Staffora, reachable along the provincial road that leads from Varzi to Brallo. The village links its name to an important archaeological find: the Roman Furnace. On the occasion of the construction of the primary school, on 12 September 1957, the construction company that was carrying out the work noticed that during the excavations a large quantity of fragments of bricks emerged from the ground, completely unjustifiable by the nature of the agricultural land in which it was operating. On 6 October 1957 the object of the discovery was defined by the Superintendent of Antiquities of Lombardy as a "vertical Roman oven consisting of an uncovered channel and a combustion chamber with a circular section". The research continued until 1962 and led to the affirmation that the Roman Furnace of Massinigo, dating back to the 3rd century BC. it was used until the first half of the 1st century AD.
The choice of the place for the construction of the complex is not accidental, it is motivated by the presence of the precious archaeological find. The educational house offers schoolchildren who will go on an educational visit, an educational path structured in different laboratories. Summer camps, music, painting, cooking, gardening courses, outdoor sports activities and cultural events will also be organized. Particular attention will be paid to pupils with disabilities thanks to inclusive and personalized courses.
The house (visible in the photo), dating from the mid-nineteenth century, needs major redevelopment. Your donation will allow the renovation and safety of the building. Your contribution is precious, it leaves an indelible mark on the heart of every child, offering them the opportunity to live unique and unforgettable experiences. Children forget their toys and their clothes, but they will never forget the time and love you spent for them.
