Meet Kevin and Lori Diaz, two incredible parents with a call to action that has changed lives. With their two teenage daughters, Mikaylah and Mariah, they have opened their home to infants and toddlers in the foster care system, offering a haven of love and stability to those who need it most. Their journey began with a hope to foster and adopt, and they've been more than willing to provide a safe space for even newborn babies in need of short-term care.

In their remarkable journey, the Diaz family has cared for five children so far. They've received babies at all hours of the night, diving headfirst into the demanding schedules of newborns without hesitation. Their selflessness knows no bounds – they've adjusted their work and personal schedules to ensure that every child under their care is given the attention and love they deserve.

In September 2022, their family was blessed with the adoption of Matthias. He was abandoned in the hospital hours after being born. But God had a plan… He was brought to the Diaz’ family as a stabilized but premature baby, with much uncertainty. As God would have it, Kevin and Lori had already cared for a premature child, as their second born, Mariah, had also been born prematurely. They were uniquely equipped to care for Matthias from the very beginning.

But their story doesn't end there. On September 28 of this year, they have the incredible opportunity to adopt another little boy who came into their lives in March of 2022, at the tender age of 2. What was meant to be a short-term arrangement has turned into a forever commitment, as the Diaz family wholeheartedly embraced him as their own.

Kevin and Lori’s call to adoption started before they were even married, as they observed Lori’s aunt go through the adoption process for 3 young children. They knew even then that God had put the shared dream of adoption in their hearts. The Diaz family's mission resonates deeply with the Biblical call to care for the fatherless and widows in their times of need. As James 1:27 in The Passion Translation reminds us, true spirituality is about making a difference in the lives of those who are marginalized and vulnerable. The Diaz family's commitment to service and their involvement with the body of Christ perfectly align with this mission.
