Dean & Diana need help with IVF

Donation protected
Dean and I met in 2010. I had just graduated nursing school and despite the distraction of a new love interest, I managed to get my RN license. Dean was and still is working in aviation, he has a private pilot license, and fostering a love of music through playing drums in various bands. A little bit of love at first sight, after 6 months of dating we were living together.

When we were approaching a year of living together, Dean pursued a career as an Air Traffic Controller. This meant 3 months in Oklahoma for training. We survived the time apart and became even stronger as a couple. Although ATC didn't work out for Dean, the experience helped him realize that the core of aviation, working with planes and flying them, was what he loved most.

On October 27, 2013 we were married in East Setauket, NY. I could not have dreamed of a more amazing wedding. Small and sweet and absolutely our style, we had the night of our lives.

During our first year, our dream of starting a family together was tested. Diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago, I knew we would have some difficulties. I just never realized how extensive these difficulites would be. Almost a year of trying under the care of a Reproductive Endocrinologist has yielded no results. Our RE has advised us that IVF is our best chance at starting a family.

Unfortunately our medical insurance changed on January 1st of 2015. With the new year came new struggles. Despite our contribution to the insurance increasing 3-fold, infertility monitoring would no longer be covered.

Recently our first round resulted in a miscarriage. As tough as this is for us, we want to continue to try. New York state does not observe infertility as a medical condition that needs coverage. So we are left to pay out of pocket. At this point, we have exhausted our savings, maxed out our credit cards, and have to start repaying a personal loan.

We can't afford to borrow any more money, but we have 13 embryo's left. We just need funds to continue
procedures and start over.

We are asking you, our friends, family, and strangers to help us reach our goal. The private and sensitive nature of our problem makes asking for help difficult, but the past year has made us humble. Now is not the time for pride. Plain and simple, we need help. Even the littlest bit will help and for this we would be eternally grateful.

Please help us start a family. Without your help, we won't be able to continue.
