Defibrillator Fundraiser

Over the past few years, several people have sadly passed away on Tydu Road. Just before Christmas last year, I received a phone call asking me to check on an elderly neighbour. My son and I went straight there, only to find the person unresponsive. We immediately contacted the emergency services, who instructed us to locate a defibrillator to try to resuscitate them. Unfortunately, it was too late. It was at that moment we realised there are no defibrillators in this area—the nearest one is in the centre of the village.
Since then, I have been looking into purchasing a defibrillator and installing it in a heated Public Access Cabinet at the farm, as it requires an electrical supply. This location would be central and accessible for residents and walkers along Tydu Road, as well as those living in Heol Fawr, Avril, and the Greenacres estates.
Following the tragic events of last week—although a different kind of loss—it prompted me to revisit this plan. Thanks to a kind donation, thoughtful gifts from many appreciative residents, and several offers of support, I have decided to set up a GoFundMe page to help make this a reality.
The combined cost of the defibrillator and the outdoor heated cabinet is expected to be around £1,800 - £2000. I will begin the fund with the £100 that was originally donated to me, and my family will also contribute. Anyone wishing to support this fundraiser can do so directly through the page. If we exceed the target, we may also be able to include an Emergency Bleed Kit in the cabinet.
The equipment is designed to be straightforward to use, but there are training groups available for anyone who would like additional guidance. I will look into arranging this as well.
Many thanks in advance for your support.
