Help Rebuild Our Church: Destroyed by Fire

St Mary & St Marina Coptic Orthodox Church, located in Llandilo, Sydney NSW, was founded on January 1, 2001. In the weekly services for children and adults, the beloved church became a home for many families, providing a sense of love, faith, security, and fellowship.

On Saturday 4th of November, 2023 at approximately 07:30am, a candle was lit in the back of the church in preparation of the Saturday English Mass. Unfortunately, the picture behind the candle caught fire, causing extensive damage to our beloved church. During the fire, the majority of the church was tragically incinerated.

We thank the Lord that no one was harmed in the incident, however there is significant structural damage that will require extensive repairs. Although the Church is insured, we must cover the excess as well as other associated costs.

Although we mourn the loss of our Church, we remain steadfast in Christ, who is our firm foundation. We have unwavering faith in God and trust that He will guide us through this challenging time. We are seeking your support & donations to help rebuild our beloved church. We greatly appreciate your support and prayers during this difficult time.

Our goals: 

Stage 1: Raise $500,000 by 31.03.2024 to assist with fees associated with the excess, design, architecture and gaining building approvals

Stage 2: Raise $500,000 by 31.07.2024 to commence construction

Please note that all proceeds raised will be used to cover the excess and all associated costs.
