We are excited to announce The Togetherness Initiative, a community-centered event hosted by the University of Windsor Faculty of Education’s Vulnerability and Marginalization class. This event, designed to uplift families in need in our community, will take place in January 2026, at a Windsor deserving elementary school. Various community partners like Windsor Essex United Way are helping to make this event possible!
The Togetherness Initiative will provide essential resources and joyful experiences for local families. Free giveaways, engaging children’s activities, and valuable health information and resources will be available to all attendees, creating a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for those who may be struggling. This is a powerful opportunity for us to come together as a community and offer tangible support and compassion.
To make this event a success, we need your help. We are seeking donations to support various aspects of the event, including:
• Giveaways (food, hygiene supplies, clothing, school supplies, etc.)
• Children’s activities (craft supplies, toys, games)
Every contribution, no matter the size, will directly impact the lives of families in need and help us make this event a meaningful day of support and connection. In recognition of your generosity, donors will be acknowledged on event materials, and larger contributions may be featured prominently at the event.
We would be honoured if you would join us in supporting The Togetherness Initiative. To discuss your potential involvement, or if you have questions about the event, please feel free to contact the course instructor, Dr. Gelsea Pizzuto Serra.
