Police vests for Israeli Police

UPDATE: With the money that has already come in, we were able to buy 7 vests today. They are pictured above. We were also able to negotiate a price with the supplier. The new price is: $245 USD/$320CND/950NIS

For anyone who is following what is going on in Israel, it is clear that the situation is not calm. The Israeli police are at the forefront of the tension and the first responders to any situation. My husband is a police officer in Tel Aviv/Yaffo and I am constantly checking the news to see how things are progressing there. As a police officer, he is expected to respond without hesitation to any situation, and as someone in uniform he is a clearly marked target. Even though this is the case, the unit my husband is in, and many other units, do not have standard issued police vests for their employees.
There was an attempted stabbing on October 12, 2015 in Jerusalem, which was not successful, only because the police officer who was the target of the attack had a vest on.
I am opening this page to raise funds in order to buy vests for my husbands unit. Each vest costs approximately $400 CND, which is a lot of money on a police salary. Any amount donated will help in this effort and is greatly appreciated by the police and their families.
I have increased the goal to $4000 because I would like to be optomistic and I believe we can raise enough to provide each officer in his unit a vest! 10 vests are needed! If we are able to bring in more, we will begin giving vests to other units.
