Hi! My name is Dex and I'm 8 years old. For as long as I can remember, my Uncle Andy has been helping children in Uganda learn by providing tools (or "sustainable educational platforms") to better their education. (Yeah, he's pretty cool!)
I've written letters, seen pictures and donated my allowance to help my Uncle Andy's Non Profit Charity, Pangea Educational Development. https://www.pangeaeducation.org
I always asked my mom when I could go to Africa and meet and help the kids, but she thought I was too little.
But this year is different!
I am starting 3rd grade this year in Las Vegas NV, and after thinking long and hard my mom thinks I am mature enough to really understand how special this experience will be.
So on September 1st of this year- me and my mom, my uncle Andy and a bunch of awesome volunteers will be heading to Uganda, Africa on a volunteer trip. Our main project over the 10 days will be a literacy program, building the St. James Primary School library for the community and working with local artists and authors to promote reading and learning by creating more relatable stories for Ugandan children.

Many people have asked how they can contribute to this trip. We have set up a go fund me to cover some of the travel expenses, which add up to over $5,000!
We are super excited...and a little nervous...to meet and help some new friends! If you would like to donate to our trip, even $5.00, we would really appreciate it! I promise to keep you posted on our stories and the months leading up to our trip! Thank you!!
Dex (and his mama)
P.S., If we are lucky enough to exceed our goal, all extra money will be donated straight to PED for future trips and resources.
