Hi, I'm Jill, and I'm reaching out for your support in a critical time for my brother and his family as they recover from a tragic house fire.

On the night of March 19th, 2025, they were awoken by the smell of smoke, only to find that a fire had erupted in their garage and laundry room, the heart of their home. My sister-in-law’s parents, who lived in the basement, had to escape through the laundry room and barely made it out in time. With remarkable courage, my brother fought through the flames to save his family, enduring injuries, including burns to his esophagus and lungs. Thankfully, he is expected to make a full recovery—he is a real-life superhero.

Displaced and living in a hotel, they quickly realized that it wasn't a sustainable solution. Now, they are staying with our parents, an hour away from their work and the children’s school. This means they will have to homeschool the kids for the remainder of the year, and both Wayne and Krystal face a daunting daily commute until they can find a new home. The costs of this commute are piling up, and once they secure a new place, they will need everything to rebuild their lives.

While they had tenant's insurance, it unfortunately doesn’t cover much. As everything is smoke damaged, it all needs to be replaced; beds, furniture, kitchen supplies, and all the essentials needed to make a house a home again.

As a proud family, they would never ask for help themselves. However, we all know that at times, we need a little support from our friends, family, and community to get through tough moments. Yes, even real-life Superheroes like my brother.
