Hello, my name is Wayne and I am in great danger of losing my apartment at a senior citizens home, that I desperately need, as my savings are almost gone and my Social Security pay does not cover all of my expenses. I am 82 years old and recently had to have my nose removed due to cancer. I have included photos showing what I went through and please be aware that they are graphic and should not be viewed by children or sensitive adults. Although my nose is gone, the remaining cavity bleeds profusely 2 to 3 times per week and takes anywhere from 20 minutes to 30 minutes for it to cease. One time it would not stop bleeding and I had to call 911 and be taken to the emergency room of a local hospital. The cavity fills with particulate and has to be cleaned regularly, but the cleansing process can also bring on the heavy bleeding that both flows outward and down my throat. The doctors have no remedy for this except for me to keep it moist with a saline solution, but that has not helped much at all. The sides of the cavity itch all of the time, especially at night while trying to fall asleep. I have a prosthesis now that looks very real but removing the glue from it and from my face each night is difficult and nerve racking.

I have a quadruple heart condition for which I have a pacemaker, a stent in my artery and medication to keep my high blood pressure and cholesterol at a safe level, plus a low dose aspirin daily as the stent requires my blood to be thin always.

I have a severe case of sleep apnea that causes me to stop breathing when I sleep and my only recourse is to wear a mask and use a machine to force me to breath. However, an expert has told me that these devices have not been proven to be affective at my age.

I also have a very bad sciatic nerve problem that causes severe pain all down one or both of my legs. It currently affects my left leg preventing me from sitting down and standing up without a lot of pain. It is very debilitating and causes pain even when I try to raise my leg and put on pants. I must take pain medication daily in order to walk and I am seeking medical help but have been very disappointed with therapy treatment so far. I have heard bad stories from people who got operated on for this type of malady.

The facility at which I live has safe guards in place to come to my room should I need immediate help.

There are 2 switches that I can pull to summon help and I must open my door every morning before 10 A. M. to cause a small device to drop down, indicating that I am alright. If I don’t they come to see if I am in trouble. I need to be here due to my several, serious health problems and yet, I have depleted my savings that, along with Soc. Sec., have allowed me to remain here up until now. I have about 60 days before I will have lost all of my savings. The facility has informed me that they will not accept Medicaid as payment for my rent.

I need about $800 per month to supplement my Soc. Sec. check to make ends meet and to remain at the senior citizens home. I do not know how much time I have left in life so I do not know how much to ask for but every $9600 dollars I receive will keep me here under good care for one year. I would humbly ask for $19,200 that would guarantee me to stay at the senior facility for 2 years, minus any rainy days that might occur.
