Desperately need help to get home

Hi. My name is Ross and, in the picture, is my amazing family Laura, Noah and Seth.

We are in the worst situation we've ever been in and need help.

19 months ago, we made the extremely difficult position to leave our home in Scotland and move to Canada. We took our kids away from everyone and everything they know for the hopes of a better future for them. From the offset of arriving in Canada, it was clear that the company that I came here to work for had lied to us, and many other UK workers that came over the same time as we did, about the current economic state the country is in, what to expect here, and that we would be able to settle close to work and Schools. Out of, at least, 10 uk workers/families that came over within 6 months of my family, only 3 remain, as many chose to leave within 6 months of arriving. Such were the mis-truths told to us by the employer. Despite this, and Despite the last 19 months being extremely challenging for us as a family unit (my wife and eldest son really struggled to find work, my youngest had to go to 3 different schools in the first 9 months, neither child had managed to settle and make friends as quickly as we had hoped), we eventually settled in a community about an 90 minutes away from work. My youngest son, Seth, settled into school and is excelling at his studies and social life. My eldest son, Noah, has found full time employment at WalMart and is in a relationship. My wife found work at the same company I worked with and was also excelling in her role. I had also just been promoted to leading hand at work and things were looking up, foe the first time in forever.

Out of nowhere, an event that happened in which I was not at fault, I was very recently terminated from my employment. This is where I NEED your help. My employer has me on a closed work permit. This means that I cannot work for any other company until I manage to source another employer to sponsor me. This takes, potentially, months, if i am able to find such an employer at all. My wife can no longer get to work as she doesn't drive and, without my salary we cannot afford the fuel to get her to work. Her manager has been unbelievably supportive, allowing her to temporarily work from home, but this will only last until possibly January. This means we are stuck in Canada, with no income of any kind after Christmas. The reality is that we are looking at potential homelessness in a foreign country, which does not seem like it is willing to help us in any way. We also don't have any savings as the cost of living here is so high that we were living pay cheque to pay cheque.

I understand that times are hard for everyone right now, and especially with Christmas so close, but I beg for your help. I am a very proud man and it kills me to ask for help, but I NEED help.

Even coming back to the UK, we will initially have to rely on the support of friends and family just to have a roof over our heads, but we will be home!!!

The cost of getting my family home, and transporting our belongings, goes upwards of the amount I'm asking for. If I am to even come close to reaching my goal, it will go towards helping my family rebuild a life that was taken from us, through no fault of our own. Please, I literally beg you, spare whatever you can to help my family get home. I would be forever in your debt.
