Hi my name is Kim and I’m asking for help for my spouses brother in Jamaica. His brother Hal, who is just 52 has fallen on hard times because of an undiagnosed health condition, which has him needing walking assistance with a cane and rendering him unable to work for the last 18 months. Hal is a body shop mechanic and a single dad of a 12 year old daughter. Due to his deteriorating spinal / hip condition, he is unable to stand or walk for more than a few minutes, making working impossible. He and his daughter live in the countryside in Jamaica, and there is no financial assistance available to him. We have been helping them as much as possible but the bills are piling up quicker than we can help.
Hal lives a modest life, no drinking or smoking, drives a 30 year old car that has increasing mechanical issues and lives in a small home that is in desperate need of repairs. The roof leaks, the walls are crumbling from age, there is no running water in the house because the plumbing needs repairs. His electricity is threatening to be cut off due to overdue bills. Hal needs his car to get food and to take his daughter to school. With school expenses, books and pens needed, car repairs, house repairs, electricity bills, there is no end in site. He can not get the medical diagnosis done because he can’t afford the costs. Jamaica has no health coverage. Any money we send is needed just to put food on the table.
It is because of this that I am reaching out to family and friends, and maybe some kind strangers, begging for any help for him and his daughter. There is no greater fear for a parent than the uncertainty of where the next meal for you child will come from.
Any little bit you can give will be greatly appreciated. $10 would buy some rice and milk. Please I beg you to find it in your heart to help. These are humble people in tough times. Your love is appreciated and please share this link with your friends as well.
We can’t help everyone but we can help one person at a time and it will make a difference.
I will transfer all funds to his account in Jamaica.
Thank you
