We are thrilled to announce that Andrews High School is the winner of our Teachers' Lounge Makeover Contest! HUGE congratulations to the Red Raiders!
Why This Matters...
Teachers spend the year pouring their hearts into students, but too often, their own needs, mental health, and spaces are overlooked. This professionally designed makeover will give them a well-deserved place to unwind, connect, and restore their energy so they can keep inspiring the next generation.
How You Can Help...
We’ve had so many people ask how they can support this mission, and now is your chance. Your donation will help us:
- Provide essentials for the makeover (supplies, tradeworkers, food & water for volunteers, tools, etc.)
- Cover items that may not be donated (appliances, coffee makers, microwaves, etc.)
- Prepare for last-minute needs that always come up during projects
- Support travel & stay for the Besties team
- Expand our impact and create opportunities for more schools
- Spread the word about our mission to celebrate teachers nationwide
- Empower future projects by helping us document, share, and inspire other schools to join the movement.

The Design Besties is a nonprofit collective of designers driving change through events, education, and impact projects. Our latest initiative gifts professionally designed teachers’ lounges to schools in need, honoring the educators who shape us.
Mission: We believe design has the power to heal. There is science in design and the ability to cause emotional change. Our initiative is an opportunity to pay back our heroes who care for our future generations. We’re here to give back by providing teachers’ lounge sanctuaries where they can recharge, reset, and return to the classroom with renewed energy.
