More information about Discbots: The Discbots FRC Team was founded over 6 years ago to serve refugee students attending DeKalb County Schools. These students had little to no formal education and limited English proficiency. However, their passion for education and drive to succeed helped build the foundation of our team. We built a core of 32 students from three continents representing eight countries. During our first few seasons, we transformed the lives of many students by giving them an opportunity to compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition. We succeeded beyond measure, reaching the World's competition in our second year, and representing the United States in the Pan-African Robotics Competition in Ghana.

Through our 6 years of existence, we have evolved quite a bit. Transforming from serving purely refugee students to serving at-risk, underprivileged, and underrepresented students from the Metro-Atlanta area. After a few tough seasons due to Covid and the loss of fiscal sponsors, we finally got back to our roots of success. Last season we reached the District Championships, served 12 late middle school to high school students, and received accolades for our Community Service and Team Character.

We are looking to continue serving additional students, reaching a greater number of deserving students, and establishing ourselves as a dominant force in the Peachtree District. We look for your support as we are 100% volunteer-run, and provide all opportunities free of charge to our members. Your support would allow us to invest in better drivetrains, newer motors, and other resources that will build our future generation.
